More Summer Shots

The weather during our recent trip to Sequim and Pt. Townsend was perfect. The weather today is great too so here are some shots of the trip to keep me in the mood. Above is the nifty cairn I built during our stroll onto the Dungeness Spit. The rocks there are flat and smooth, perfect for stacking. No shells on this beach, just rocks. The beach off the main drag in Pt. Townsend had some shells and even giant crab shells (of course, I picked up some for my collection) but really no flat, smooth rocks. I'm going to need to research this.We learned that Indian Paintbrush can grow at sea level.
And you can't go to the Olympic Peninsula without stopping at a lavender farm. Best time to go is the week after the Lavender Festival, on a Friday, like we did. You'll have every farm to yourself. The forecast is sunny and dry for the next several days. More pics will follow to document this strange phenomena.
