Good things come to those who wait

We're still waiting for most of the tomatoes but our recent heatwave allowed a few to ripen. I've got a couple of nice yellow ones I'll pick tomorrow and add some cherry tomatoes from a co-worker and we'll have a great salad.Miles needed to know why I had tomatoes on the table and why I had that weird black contraption stuck to my face. I think W. C. Fields warned to never work with kids of animals.

Waiting always seems to be the hardest thing to do when it comes to tomatoes. I also had a few ripen this week and was great to finally put my teeth into them. So juicy and delicious!

Your tomatoes look great! I know that anxious wait to the see (and eat) the product of all your hard work. Hope you have some good recipes waiting! If you don't mind I'd love to direct our Foodista readers to your blog. Learn more here: http://www.foodista.com/static/Blogger%20Tools/

Rachael, nothing beats the taste of a tomato grown at home.

Mmmm. I wish I could grow such beautiful tomatoes. Mine always seem to come out looking quite, un-tomato like. Thanks for sharing yours. They look great!

I hope you had a good tomato year; we sure did...still have lots of little ones in the kitchen and need to do something with them fast!

Btw will you be participating in the O Foods for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Contest again this year? You have until Sept 28th to come up with a fab O recipe...and there are prizes :D

Even if you can't participate, please feel free to spread the word (prize for that too!) :D
